TODAY'S FEATURED VIDEO

AN INTERVIEW WITH GRAYSON PERRY

Grayson Perry, winner of the 2003 Turner Prize, uses the seductive qualities of ceramics and other art forms to make stealthy comments about societal injustices and hypocrisies, and to explore a variety of historical and contemporary themes. The beauty of his work is what draws us close. Covered with sgraffito drawings, handwritten and stencilled texts, photographic transfers and rich glazes, Perry's detailed pots are deeply alluring. Only when we are up close do we start to absorb narratives th read more...

MICHAEL CALLAGHAN: SAATCHI ONLINE CRITIC'S CHOICE BY BEN STREET

The elephant in the room is, of course, the late Mondrian: those zinging strips of gridded tape as cool paeans to modernity. Michael Callaghan's work - like that of many contemporary neo-abstractionists, such as Tomma Abts, Mary Heilmann, and Mark Grotjahn - negotiates that great oxymoron, the modern past. This generation is by no means the first t...read more...

Star Gazers - 10 new artists
Front of House Gallery, Bristol
Susan Healthfield

This exhibition is made up of ten of
the newest artists of the scene. The
artwork is connected by a sense of
newness and not by theme. The context
of the house adds much needed
'personality' to that of the standard
white cube.

An interesting group show although I
though that the marketing and
descriptions used were really heavy
pointing out 'international' at every
corner and having the name of the
curators in massive letters.
